Rave is an app that lets you watch movies and videos with your friends even when you’re not in the same place. You can start a watch party, invite people to join, and talk to each other while the video plays. It works with streaming services like Netflix, Disney+, YouTube, and Amazon Prime Video, so you can watch something together instead of sending links back and forth and discussing it later.
Introduction to Rave
Watching a movie alone is fine, but sometimes it’s more fun when you have someone to talk to about it. That’s where Rave comes in. You can join a friend’s room or start your own and invite others to watch with you. Everyone can follow the same video while chatting in real time.
You don’t have to be watching a movie, either. Rave also works for YouTube videos and music, so there are plenty of ways to spend time together. It’s a nice option when your friends live far away or everyone is too busy to meet in person.
Watch Movies and Videos Together
Rave supports several popular streaming platforms, including Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Max, and YouTube. Choose the content you want to watch, create a room, and invite your friends to join. You can watch shows, catch up on movies, or share funny videos you’ve found online.
It’s particularly useful when everyone wants to watch the same thing but can’t get together. Instead of watching separately and messaging each other afterward, you can share the experience as it happens. Available services depend on the platforms supported by Rave and the content you can access through them.
Chat While Watching
One of the best parts of Rave is that you don’t need to switch to another messaging app just to talk. You can send text messages or use voice chat while watching a video with your friends. That makes it easy to react to funny scenes, talk about what’s happening, or simply chat while a movie is playing.
You can also use Rave to watch trending YouTube videos together. Sometimes you only want to share a short clip with a friend, and you don’t need to organize a whole movie night for that. Open a room and enjoy the video together.
Listen to Music with Friends
Rave isn’t limited to movies and TV shows. You can listen to music with other people, even if they’re in another country. Put on some songs and chat while listening, or share music you think your friends might enjoy.
This is a simple way to spend time together when you don’t have anything special planned. You can listen to music while talking about your day, discovering new songs, or just relaxing.
Watch Videos from Google Drive
Rave also supports sharing videos from Google Drive, which gives you another way to watch together. This can be useful when you want to share a video that’s already stored in your Drive rather than finding it on a streaming platform.
You can invite your friends and enjoy the video as a group. It’s another reason Rave can be useful beyond watching popular movies and shows.
Watch Together Across Different Devices
Your friends don’t all have to use the same type of device to join in. Rave supports Android phones, other devices, and VR, so you have different ways to take part in a watch party.
This comes in handy when your group doesn’t use identical devices. You can still arrange a time to watch something together and chat while it plays, rather than trying to coordinate everything through separate apps.
